To reach climate neutrality by 2050, economies must transform fast. To become emission-free, electrification with 100% renewable energy (RE) is key. However, some industries and transport sectors cannot yet be directly electrified. Until they can, Power-to-X (PtX) is the missing link.PtX enables us to produce anything formerly dependent on fossil fuels with RE and carbon. These climate neutral e-fuels and chemicals can defossilise high-emissions industries, incl. chemical, fertiliser, steel, and cement industries as well as aviation and maritime transport.PtX offers a tremendous potential for developing and emerging economies. They can accelerate their economic development, become less dependent on fossil fuel imports, and decrease their CO2 emissions at the same time. However, knowledge on PtX is still scarce within relevant stakeholder groups. Therefore, the International PtX Hub was implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the former German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) to serve as a knowledge and exchange platform on PtX technology and developments. Financed by the International Climate Initiative (IKI), the PtX Hub is a contribution to the German National Hydrogen Strategy of 2020 and represents one of the four pillars of the former BMUV"s PtX action programme initiated in 2019.For a successful international market ramp-up of PtX, a thorough anchoring of knowledge about PtX is indispensable. One of the PtX Hub"s primary goals is to establish a broad-based and effective human capacity development (HCD) concept for renewable PtX. The main component for the implementation of the measure is a basic training on renewable PtX already well established since 2021. The basic Renewable PtX training emphasises on sustainability dimensions, a key concern of the PtX Hub alongside with standards and certification. Furthermore, the training addresses essential allocation concepts and development of policy aspects, technical requirements/ necessities and economic basics, incl. the importance of RE.In 2023, the basic training will successively be complemented by add-on modules, target group and sector-specific trainings. Moreover, the PtX Hub will lance into didactically innovative formats with the creation of a web-based training (WBT) and the creation of several explanatory video clips. Train-of-Trainer events have the goal to enlarge the renewable PtX trainer community and increase the number of qualified trainers in partner countries of the PtX Hub and the GIZ. Central to the success of the various training measures is the close involvement of experienced and competent trainers from the relevant fields such as RE and/or green H2 or renewable PtX with technological and economic expertise. In addition to the content-related and methodological-didactic focus, intercultural experience in International Cooperation and at best in the project environment of GIZ is of particular importance for successful implementation. This call for proposals is aimed at individuals with several years of specific work experience who can support, deliver and further develop the existing Renewable PtX training formats. The contract period of the framework agreement per trainer will cover the period of two years with the option of one extensions of two years. The subject of this tender is the conclusion of a framework agreement for services concerning Renewable PtX training activities, which comprises delivery of Renewable PtX training as well as the development of Renewable PtX training materials and concepts. The trainers will be responsible for the implementation of the trainings and support the content and conceptual development of the Renewable PtX HCD measures. The trainings are usually conducted in English. In most cases, the trainings take place in groups of 12-18 participants and may be held virtually or hybrid, in some cases onsite.Overall, the Renewable PtX training activities can be divided into three categories: (1) Basic Renewable PtX Training (2) Specific add-on modules (3) Train-of-Trainer PtX Training courses Below you will find the preconditions for participation in the tenderfor the conduction of the training courses. Please note that bidders who do not meet these criteria will be excluded from participation in the further procedure.a) Successful participation in the Renewable PtX Train-of-Trainer programme of the PtX Hubcourse b) Participation in the Renewable PtX Training of the PtX Hubc) Professional qualification due to the requirements in the tenderSigning a user agreement with the PtX Hub to be allowed to use the training materials
